International Council for Inter-religious Cooperation
International faith Think Tank formed in 2009
ICIRC attempts to study, diagnose, prevent, calm down and remediate inter-religious tension and violence worldwide.
The purpose is to engage religious leaders .. to assist them in 'deleting the vacuum' created between the religions. To help study, diagnose, prevent, calm down and remediate inter-religious tension and violence where ever in the world its influence permits so.
The goal of interreligious dialogue should not be restricted to tolerating one another or peaceful living among different communities of faith, rather, the aim should be to generate mutual understanding and respect for religious diversity and to create a climate in which people can broach, unafraid and open, all themes that interest humanity
It achieves this through (1) helping religious leaders understand their problems, (2) engaging religious-school teachers in disseminating information about peace and interfaith cooperation, (3) doing research on the current situation with regard to relations among religions in various countries, (4) organising meetings to enable religious leaders to plan cooperative initiatives and (5) hosting networking dinners regionally for religious leaders from different faiths.
