Organization
Interfaith Youth Core
History
The idea for IFYC came in 1998 when Eboo Patel, attending an interfaith conference at Stanford University, realised that they were too few young people at the conference. He questioned why so many stories about religion these days feature young people fighting in the name of God? why isnt there a huge movement of young people from different faiths working together to apply the core values of all faiths—service to others? Their response was to found this organisation, an interfaith youth movement using service as a bridge.
