Organization Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding
History TCIU is named for the late Rabbi Marc H. Tanenbaum (d. 1992). Called the Human Rights Rabbi, he was dedicated to helping all people recognise the humanity of the other. Mixing scholarship and activism, he launched programs of interreligious education and dialogue. To honour his work, his widow, Dr. Georgette Bennett, founded TCIU in 1992.

Structure Tanenbaum’s distinguished Board of Directors guides us in all aspects of our organizational list. Our Leadership and Advisory committees are comprised of experts who ensure our programming in conflict resolution, health care, education, and the workplace is as effective and cutting-edge as it can be.
