History
Brockton Interfaith Community (BIC) is a broad-based power organization created in 1990 by area clergy and lay leaders driven to action by the troubles facing the city of Brockton, Massachusetts. Since 1990 BIC has grown into a regional force for change.

Mission
To improve the lives of those in Brockton through building the leadership of ordinary citizens. With the belief that our faith unites us instead of divides us, we work toward bringing hope and change to those around us.
Goals
to reach across ethnic, racial, and religious lines, to improve the community by building relationships, identifying common concerns, finding solutions and taking action for social justice.
Approach
With the boards leadership and with training from the BIC organizers, ordinary people build powerful relationships, share their anger, and take courageous action holding themselves and their public officials accountable, for change.
Structure
BIC is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of lay leaders from member congregations and institutions and employs two full-time organizers. Support from church trust funds and community sponsors.

Activity
Community organizing through congregations and parishes. Lay people and clergy from the different faith traditions meet together, identify local problems and needs in their own neighborhoods, and devise strategies for solving them. Such as neighborhood playground safety, police assistance, securing grants to keep city pools open in summer,working for the implementation of a drug education programs in local schools.
