established 1995, the Texas Faith Network (a project of the Texas Freedom Network Education Fund) is a statewide group of more than 600 mainstream religious leaders united in their support of religious freedom, civil liberties and strong public education.

Approach
based in Austin, the Texas Freedom Network acts as the state’s watchdog, monitoring far-right issues, organizations, money and leaders. The organization has been instrumental in defeating initiatives backed by the religious right in Texas, including private school vouchers and textbook censorship at the Texas State Board of Education.

Social issues activism, open letters, educational fund. The Texas Freedom Network Education Fund, created in 1996, supports research and education efforts that promote religious freedom and individual liberties. The TFN Education Fund is widely recognized as an influential think tank on a number of critical social policy issues. Our growing library of original research has become invaluable to policy-makers on a wide range of church-state and education issues, such as the faith-based initiative, public school Bible courses and sex education.
